Our History
Our History dates back to the late nineties when we first met at The Connaught Hotel in London. We were young pastry chefs working crazy hours, laughing our way through the dinner service of endless checks for Soufflés, Crepe Soufflés', Mille-Feuille and plated desserts, all made to order to Michelin star standards. From there we continued to work in London; The Sloane Club, The Landmark, and not long after we got Married in 2001, we returned back to the north of England. Alongside fulltime jobs we planned and started the company making bespoke wedding cakes, exhibiting at Fayres with displays and tempting cake samples. We soon needed more kitchen space and moved to a larger workshop and then came our shop here in Darlington opening in June 2007. After major building works Café Robineau serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon teas arrived in 2012. And now...Our latest venture is Robineau Nationwide Post. We've come a long way from two chefs at the Connaught to where we are now, thanks to you, our Customers, and our Team past and present.
